this has been unmaintained for a very long time, mostly because there is an active forked project based on this, so people should rather be using that

this has been hardcoded to false for quite some time now

and even then, only in specific situations, so simplify accordingly

and removing them exposes a bug in DataType.getTypeFromClass, which we can't fix right now

looks like a bug introduced at some point when MVStore was added
